How to Remediate Soil After A Hurricane and Flooded Yard

I’m Sherry with Home Show Garden Pros. And we are in this area that was once a lovely yard and it’s had some issues, but during Hurricane Beryl it filled with water. This flooded in this area and stayed wet for many, many hours, and that caused some compaction in the soil. So we need to get out and remediate the soil to loosen up some of that compaction. And let’s get air into the soil so that it can recover and we can have beautiful grass in here.

So how you would remediate the soil after a big storm event like we just went through would be applying things like the Humates Plus. I call Humates Plus and Super Seaweed the dynamic duo. These products were created just for this to improve the soils so that we can have better success growing our lawns and our landscapes.

So applying Humates Plus is going to put the good carbon back into the soil. It’s going to create oxygen pathways in the soil. It’s going to break up that compaction layer and help the ground composition to change. And then watering it in with the liquid seaweed, and I apply this with a hose in sprayer, but the liquid seaweed by Microlife is going to stimulate the biology in the soil, getting those microbes super active and happy to work like little tillers through your ground to fix the problem.
