How To Unlock Nutrients When Planting New Sod

So this new sod is here because we had a big city leak, and they had to come and dig it up, fix the leak, and then they replaced it with sod. And that’s great, except for underneath this nice sod is clay. See that thick clay? How is my grass going to grow in that thick clay? Well, clay has actually got nutrients in it, but they need to be unlocked, and they need to be stimulated. And a great way to do that is with MicroLife Humates Plus. You hear Sherri on HomeShow Garden Pros talking about this all the time.

This is a good fertilizer anytime of the year, but it’s especially good if you want to have your sod take with the clay that many of us in Houston have. So Microlife Humates Plus is a great product to have on your shelf. And here we’re going to put a little bit on there. You can get these in big bags, or if you have a small area, and you can just toss it on the front. And we’ve got rain coming, so it’s a great time. And if I was here when they laid it, I may have even put it down on the clay and then put the sod out. But this is fine. Sprinkle it on there, water it in, and you’re good to go. And it’s safe around people and pets. So get your grass fed for the fall and watch your grass grow in the spring.
