Goat yoga, I think of it as play. It’s a reminder of how goats live. They aren’t thinking about the future, or the past, or worrying. They’re having fun, and they’re in the moment, and they remind us about that. It’s an, opportunity when we practice yoga with them, to not take it so seriously, to have fun, and to be present. It lightens the mood. Sometimes yoga can get serious, and I think it really helps, whether you’re a newcomer to yoga or you’re an experienced yogi, to experience yoga in a different way, and to enjoy yourself while you’re maybe learning something new, or doing something you’ve done hundreds of times.

Goats have a good balance themselves. They have great balance, so when they hop up on you, they’re balancing themselves on you, which is another reminder of what we’re doing in our yoga practice, is finding balance. For that reason, their ability to play and to remind us of what’s important when we’re practicing, which is just to be present and have fun, I think they’re a great fit.
